Gagnon entered the 2026 season with the reputation as a big-play running back, and he was a workhorse for Mount Abraham/Vergennes in its 34-16 Division III victory over Windsor. Gagnon carried the ball 40 times for 263 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Mount Abraham/Vergennes outscored Windsor 28-8 in the second half to improve its record to 2-0. Gagnon ran for 1,841 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior, when he returned nine kickoffs for 303 yards and two touchdowns.

Gagnon opened the season by rushing for 181 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carrier to help Division III Mount Abraham/Vergennes defeat Milton 28-7. It was more of the same from Gagnon, a dangerous kick returner who gained 1,841 yards and scored 23 touchdowns during the 2025 season, when the Eagles lost to Bellows Falls in the Division III semifinals.

Based on his junior year, Gagon could be one of the top big-play threats in Vermont this fall.
