6’3, 200 pounds (Twitter). 4.0 GPA. Self-reports a 4.57 laser 40 time, 9’11 broad.
Tape starts off split out at wideout. Callahan immediately states he can make plays with the rock, with Callahan taking a screen 60+ yards to the house on his own merit. If you question some of his 40 times, this first rep showcases some serious straight-line speed that might absolve said questions. The next rep on tape proves Callahan can align on an island at wideout and win by separating with speed despite taking an inside release. Hands shown off as well. Callahan’s acceleration skills, matched with his size, make him an obvious wideout/TE recruit. Yet, watching his tape over again, I can’t help but be enamored with his projection to OLB. Stout build, one that’s familiar with offensive sets, Callahan could thrive as an OLB just as much as he could thrive at H-Back or TE at the next level. An all-around football player who nearly was named a top 75 two-way player in the state. I’m intrigued as to where coaches feel more comfortable stationing Callahan at the next level. Callahan’s offensive prowess might be too good to pass up.
