Conness has improved significantly this spring. He will be leading a loaded Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas team that will be in the limelight per usual in 2026.

The senior moves well with the football outside of the pocket and can fire the ball to his targets with accuracy without proper footwork. He is able to step up in the pocket and make strong throws and often already knows where to go with the ball pre-snap.

After briefly being one of three possible starting quarterbacks this past spring at national powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas, Conness has emerged as the projected starter to lead the Raiders to a possible unprecedented eighth consecutive title in 2026.

Conness throws a solid deep ball and has also shown pinpoint accuracy on intermediate and out routes. The upcoming senior is a traditional pocket passer who is not afraid of taking contact immediately after passing the football.

He does have the athletic ability to get out of the pocket and gain yards with his legs, and is decisive when it comes to passing or running the football. Conness, with limited experience, will have much to prove that he can lead St. Thomas to another championship.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder places the ball with consistent accuracy to his receivers and does a great job of delivering the football under pressure.  He has underrated mobility and strikes the football to his target when needed. 

The left-handed QB had limited opportunities at St. Thomas last season, with senior Mason Mallory Mason Mallory 5'10" | 180 lbs | ATH St. Thomas Aquinas | 2026 FL winning the job.  Now that Perrone is in the mix, it will be interesting to see whether Conness wins the job or transfers elsewhere for more opportunities to showcase his talent.
