CJ May CJ May CJ May 6'4" | 220 lbs | EDGE Highland Home | 2025 State AL is an explosive EDGE/DE prospect out of Highland Home who has been phenomenal for their defense over the past few years. May is one of our top players in our 2025 Rankings and for good reason, he makes tons of plays all over the field and can effectively shut down opposing passing and rushing attacks. May has great size, speed, and pursuit that allow him to be a consistent factor on every snap regardless of where he initially lined up. It’s really impressive watching May’s tape as he is very adaptable and can do whatever his coaches ask of him- he can rush the passer, set the edge against the run, and even occasionally drops back into coverage where he can make some key plays against the pass. Last fall, May had a fantastic junior season where he recorded some of his best stats yet- on the year he totaled up 54 total tackles (10 for loss), 7.5 sacks, 1 interception, 6 pass breakups, and 2 forced/recovered fumbles. With that kind of production, May has been a highly recruited prospect for a few years now but committed to Louisville earlier this week. Keep an eye on him this fall and at the next level, he’s an exciting defender to watch with loads of potential!

CJ May CJ May CJ May 6'4" | 220 lbs | EDGE Highland Home | 2025 State AL is a top tier prospect out of Highland Home that has progressed into becoming one of the top players in the nation at his position. At EDGE, May has explosiveness off the line of scrimmage that allows him to fly off the snap- he hast the ability to burst past offensive linemen and into the backfield. Once in the backfield, May has relentless pursuit of the ball carrier- he will put in maximum effort to track and bring down the ball carrier, regardless of where he starts the play on the field. May is a super talented pass rusher as well, he’s already shown that he possesses a wide variety of different moves to beat offensive linemen, if he continues to work on those and add more of them to his bag, he’s going to be a great player for a long time. Recently, May committed to Notre Dame, giving them a terrific recruit on the defensive line for their 2025 class!

CJ May CJ May CJ May 6'4" | 220 lbs | EDGE Highland Home | 2025 State AL is an explosive and highly talented defensive lineman that has paired up with Jakeleb Faulk to make Highland Home one of the most dominant defenses in the state. May has a great combination of strength, speed, and agility to create havoc in the trenches- his quick-twitch movements and burst off the line of scrimmage make him a nightmare for opposing offensive linemen to deal with. May’s strength is seriously impressive- on tape he consistently overpowers blockers and sheds them with ease while also being great at moving sideline to sideline to make tackles. May’s ability to move around the field like that is a valuable asset-he has the ability to chase down ball carriers from behind and make plays in pursuit with great ease. Last fall, May had a big breakout season where he totaled up 50 tackles (10 tackles for loss) and 2.5 sacks- keep an eye on him this fall- he’s sure to have another big year. Currently, May lists offers from Georgia, Clemson, Arkansas and more!

Highland Home just keeps putting out destructive DEs year after year- and right now, they’re loaded up in their 2025 class with both Jakaleb Faulk and CJ May lined up for them. May was simply fantastic on the defensive line for them last year- he is a huge guy that physically overpowers offensive linemen with his strength/power while also having the ability to seriously move around the field and chase after the ball carrier with his speed and acceleration. On tape, most of May’s highlights occur in just a few seconds- his ability to burst off the line and get to the ball is second to none, which led to a big statistical season for him. May totaled up 50 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 10 TFLs on the year- it was near impossible for opposing offenses to do anything against him, he’s just such a huge factor in both pass rush and rushing defense. May has picked up offers from Tennessee, South Carolina, Penn State, and more. Keep an eye on both May and Highland Home as a whole, after a fantastic 11-2 season last year they’re set up for a big season this fall!
