. Briggs was an impact player on a talented Dyersburg Middle School team the past two seasons, but really started to turn the corner this off-season. Up to 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, I’ve previously had him listed as an ATH; However, after a huge showing with the Tennessee Future Stars this summer as an H-Back, he’s a slam dunk as a Tight End right now.

. With the ball coming his way five times, Briggs made the most of his opportunities and made four catches on the afternoon.
Briggs’ most impactful catch came on his fourth and final target of the opening half. On 1st– and-15 from the Kentucky 21-yard line, he lined up in the slot and rumbled down field, beating both the CB and Safety, before muscling up to highpoint the ball for a touchdown grab.
Lining up primarily as an Tight End/H-Back, Briggs (unofficially) finished the day with four receptions for 25 yards, with one touchdown and one drop.

has cranked up the volume since last year’s Future Stars Game. Truth be told, he didn’t even cross on my radar during last year’s game. The 2024 season saw Briggs establish himself as one of, if not the, most dominant 2029 prospect in Dyer County. He’s an athletic kid for his size and was an athletic/physical mismatch for most of the season. Briggs has an ATH/Edge position from me because he can play any number of positions–including Running Back–with a nice combination of speed and strength.

Based off what I’ve been able to see on film, there’s very little doubt in my mind that

is the most talented eighth-grade prospect in all of Dyer County as of October 2024. He’s listed at 6-foot-1 and 186-pounds right now and looks poised for an even bigger future. Defensively he lines up as an Edge/Defensive End and is an extremely difficult player to blocker because of his initial quickness and ability to fire out of a three-point stance or standing up. Offensively he’s a battering ram coming full speed ahead at the defense, as a Running Back. For as big as he is, he has impressive feet and can get them choppin’ quickly while getting into the hole. It’ll be interesting to see where he ultimately ends up playing, but there’s a bright future here.
