Expert Analysis
Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
In my opinion, Williams is one of the best 2028 DL prospects in the state, and his play continues to back it up. He came out this past weekend and once again proved to be one of the most disruptive IDL prospects in the state. He is on the shorter side, hovering around 6’0, but his bag of moves and juice runs deeper than most players I’ve seen, especially up close. He is a true difference maker, one of my favorite players in the state, and is a tough block on every rep.

A fast-rising interior defensive lineman in Cobb County, Williams is a stout, powerful 6-foot-2 275-pound defender who has the potential to have a really strong sophomore season this fall. He saw the field some last year as a freshman and held his own in the trenches. The North Cobb Warriors are loaded with young talent and Williams is one of their top prospects in the 2028 class. He can fight off blocks and takes up a lot of space in the middle of the line of scrimmage. He flashes Power Four potential and could see some big offers come his way down the road. He’s ranked as the No. 6 DL prospect and the No. 20 overall prospect in the state for the 2028 class.

Without a doubt one of the top trench lineman in the class of 2028 and he’s certainly one of the more enjoyable guys to watch in the trenches. Williams is a hard worker and is always working on his craft. His hand work is very good on the defensive line and uses it well with his size and frame. He’s a big, big body on the interior and he has the speed to go along with that. He’s very impressive with how he maneuvers on the line at his impressive size. Look out for Williams in this 2028 class this next season.

A young, dominant interior defensive lineman for the mighty North Cobb Warriors, Williams is big, stout, and powerful for such a young prospect. He’s already ranked as the No. 3 DL prospect in the state for the 2028 class and it’s easy to see why. The 6-foot-1 295-pounder is naturally strong, uses good leverage, and plays with great effort for a young prospect his size. He’s one of the top young defensive tackles in the state and has a chance to have a massive step forward this fall as a sophomore. North Cobb has a loaded 2028 class, and Williams is one of the best.

A promising interior defensive lineman who played really well for a freshman, Williams more than held his own in the trenches this year as he went up against quality offensive linemen on a weekly basis. He brings a thick 6-foot-1 295-pound frame and eats a lot of space between the trenches. He’s tough to move backwards and showed a lot of promise as a run-stopping defender this fall. Just a freshman, Williams made his presence known and is now ranked as the No. 2 DL prospect in the state for the 2028 class. Look for him to have a possible “breakout” sophomore season in 2025.

The 6’1 295 DL has been on the Redzone radar for awhile. He captured MVP honors last Spring at our middle school Showcase and had a successful season this Fall at the varsity level. Williams explodes off the line quick and has good agility and quickness for a guy his size. Uses his hands well to keep OL at bay. Great student of the game as well as in the classroom where he sports a honors 4.0.
Outlook: Williams has garnered accolades and awards throughout his early career. He is constantly working on his craft and should develop into one on the Top DL/OG/C prospects in the 2028 Class.

, there’s not much this kid from North Cobb hasn’t done. From team honors such as a GMSAA championship this past season, to individual honors and MVP awards at nearly every event in the country, including our own Prep Redzone Next middle school camp in Atlanta. Williams was selected for the Georgia Future Stars team last year as a seventh-grader and has been selected to the team again this year, as an eighth-grader. Now up to 6-foot and 280-pounds, with a large, powerful, lower half, he has established himself as one of the most dominant interior defensive tackles in the country. While it’s proven there haven’t been many capable of slowing him down as a defensive tackle, Williams continues to diversify his game and has been working hard on his skills as an offensive lineman, too. He has worked hard in recent months on the offensive side of the ball and is starting to look the part as a center, too. Lastly, you won’t find a better representation of what a well-rounded student-athlete should act like. A National Honor Society member, he also volunteers his time to help others and still finds time to dominate in the trenches. Long after his football career comes to an end,

Williams looks like someone who should grow into a nose tackle spot. Already sitting at 6’0 270, he is a big kid. However, he doesn’t let his mass hinder his twitchiness and finesse moves when getting after the passer. For a guy at his size, he does a great job of bending off the snap and driving blockers onto their heels. At the top of his arc, his hands get involved as he fires and slaps away to keep blockers away from his chest. He is hard to move and looks like he can turn speed to power, at least in the short areas. For that reason, he is someone to watch next fall and beyond.

There is plenty to like about Williams. He comes in as an early candidate to play nose guard, listed at 6’0 275. Even for a bigger kid, I was more than impressed with his twitch and motor in 1 v 1. He has a well refined pass rush plan, quickly exploding off the line and utilizing his quick and heavy hands to knock away the hands of the blocker and keep himself free. Thanks to his sheer size and presence, he is a candidate to immediately see the field this fall for North Cobb. Williams had a fantastic day all around and jumped onto my radar as a result.

– There’s not an MVP award Williams hasn’t added to his mantel this spring, including the Prep Redzone Next camp in Georgia
– At the Future Stars Game event, once again showed off what he has displayed all year long in terms of raw power and ability
– Long term I see him as an interior offensive lineman, but started at left tackle during the Future Stars Game against Florida and South Carolina. Also did a good job as a defensive tackle in practice
– At 5-foot-11 and 280 pounds, he’s bottom heavy with a strong base that he uses to overpower his opponent regardless of what side of the ball he’s on
