Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A small-school running back to keep a close eye on this fall, Dykes is another physical back who has no problem plowing over defenders down the field. He’s got a mean stiff-arm already with impressive burst and the ability to out-run defensive backs down the field. He’s physically gifted for his age and flashed big-play ability when given an opportunity to run the ball last year. He ran for 362 yards and four touchdowns on just 45 carries for an average of eight yards per carry. He’s now ranked as the No. 18 RB and the No. 131 overall prospect in Georgia for the 2028 class.

One of the fastest backs in Georgia for the 2028 class, Dykes is a natural runner with impressive vision, burst, and the ability to out-run defenders down the field. He may not play against the toughest competition, but his talent is easy to see. He’s a shifty back with quick feet and an elusive running style that should allow him to have an outstanding sophomore season in 2025. As a freshman last season, Dykes ran for 362 yards and four touchdowns, averaging more than eight yards per carry along the way. His best football is years ahead of him and he’ll be added to the next rankings update later this summer.

Dykes is a pure playmaker and a guy I am familiar with from covering a few times and each time he seems to have gotten better. He’s a playmaker on the offensive side and defensive side of the ball and that makes him a very versatile player on both sides. He’s one to keep an eye on in the 2028 class.

weighs 160 lbs and if you cut him in half, most of his weight would be in his lower half. This chain mover is strong and is recorded squatting three 45 pound plates on each side. When you pair him up in the backfield with Michael Martin III, Gainesville Middle School has options and their competition knows it. Dykes is tough to bring down and displays good contact balance. He pulls through arm tackles like tissue paper and knows when to put his foot in the ground to get hidden yardage.
