Very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, jumping, good change of direction. Very quick feet. Does a great job jamming the wideout at the LOS and staying physical throughout. Fluid hips to match WR breaking out of the stem. Very good man and zone coverage. Sticks like glue staying stride for stride. Barnard has very good closing quickness and timing to create pass break ups. Good tackling as well and lays the boom on unsuspecting ball carriers. He’s an exciting prospect that deserves more looks.

Barnard balled out throughout the combine. He was 19^th for the 40-yard dash, 17^th L-drill, 22^nd broad jump, and an impressive 4^th pro shuttle (23^rd nationally). Barnard has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, jumping, and speed. Quick twitch ability. During both the L-drill and pro shuttle were examples of that. Thrived during the ladder tennis ball drill. Fluid controlled footwork with very good concentration. Killed it during the 7 on 7 period. Very good jam at the line of scrimmage. Fluid hips to match WR as they break into their route. Stuck the receiver like glue. Very good read and reaction speed. Very good closing quickness. Barnard is a great young DB who made a statement this showcase.

A tough and aggressive cornerback, Barnard is a force to be reckoned with in the pass and running game. His closing speed allows him to make open field tackles, preventing big gains. In press coverage, he disrupts opposing receiver routes with physicality, staying in their hip pocket and contesting throws. His fluid movement allows him to shuffle efficiently and mirror opposing receivers, making him a true lockdown defender. With his ability to shut down the passing game while also providing run support, Barnard is a playmaker who will fill up the stat sheet if teams test him.

Barnard impressed me with his very quick feet. He has very good athletic ability due to his very good speed, acceleration, change of direction, and good jumping. During the 40-yard dash, I was impressed with Barnard’s acceleration. He has a very quick burst of speed, and it showed during the individual drills against the DBs. Barnard has a good release vs off coverage and the press jam. Uses his very quick feet to out maneuver them. Good separation quickness, and showed his good route running abilities. Plucks the ball out of the air, and secures it. He’s an exciting prospect to watch out for.

Barnard proved he is not one to back down from a challenge, competing fiercely against the top players at the camp. Despite limited DB representation, Barnard stood out by turning heads with his physicality and technique. He excelled near the line of scrimmage, staying hip-to-hip with receivers and batting down passes. His ability to play trail technique effectively showcased his defensive prowess. Barnard also demonstrated great awareness, adjusting to different receivers’ styles and maintaining focus throughout drills. He is undoubtedly a player to watch as he continues to develop and refine his skills in the seasons to come.
