Representing the St. Clair/Mankato Loyola co-op and the Class AA ranks, 2027 Christian Barker Christian Barker 6'4" | 260 lbs | DL/OL Mankato Loyola | 2027 State MN has a lot going for him going into the summer camp circuit. With impressive size at around 6’4, 260 lbs., Barker posted some eye-popping stats from 2025 including 19 TFLs, 5 sacks, 69 total tackles, and 2 FF, as well as starting on both sides of the ball for the Spartans. The two-way OT/DE dynamo, who was offered by St. Norbert’s College in April, has been tearing it up this outdoor track & field season too, throwing a 47’6.5″ shot put at the NRHEG Track and Field meet on April 30th, as well as adding a 151’2″ discus at the Waseca High School Meet #2 on May 12th.

Barker, as a DL and mainly as a 5T, displays effective length, a good get-off, some strength at the point of attack, and impressive overall play speed and acceleration. He’s also a violent tackler who can unlock his hips in 1v1 rush settings. As an OL, where I think Barker better projects to the next level, the 260 lber. played every spot on the OL in 2025, but he was impressive as an LT, where he proved himself to be a physical finisher with good balance. He could polish up the pass set a bit, but Barker shows he can gain both depth and width in pass protection, and his length is an asset at the contact point and especially in pass protection. I could see this dude making some money this Summer Camp SZN!

A thick DT two-way starter boasting an uncommonly large frame for AA football, Barker is a small school athlete whose stock I could see rising continuously throughout his prep career. There are very few DTs who can take up as much space as Barker does, because that kid can completely close off a run lane. He’s particularly potent as a run stopper. Barker can shuck offensive linemen aside with ease and works down the line well. If he puts up some solid junior tape this fall, I could see Barker nabbing some NSIC offers and some FCS attention.
