really impressed me a couple weeks ago. Love to watch his competitiveness in person, going against a top flight group of receivers, Watson battled all afternoon. He had a great season for Courtland last year and is poised for more attention from colleges this off-season. A 5’10 corner who is physical off the snap, he is a Division 1 player!

Safety prospect with good height and size. Good athletic ability with very good change of direction, lateral agility, good foot speed, foot quickness, balance, flexibility, explosiveness, and hip fluidity. Good processing at the start of the play to make his run/pass read. Very good range from his safety position, showing good speed and awareness on the field. Good versus the pass, with good Zone coverage and can be used in Man coverage. Good ball skills, timing the routes well to meet the receiver when the ball arrives. Shows good hand-eye coordination to deflect passes and good hands to make interceptions. Hard-hitting safety with very good tackling that is dependable in the open field. Can come into the box and offer run support, showing physical toughness taking on blocks and making tackles. Also plays QB for his team showing command of the offense as a passer and runner. Overall, a good prospect who we are high on at the safety position.

but his work in the Cougars secondary to me is what really stands out. Watson is a ballhawk at free safety he can cover a lot of ground and is not afraid to play the run. He did a little bit of everything this past season for the Cougars and you are going to being hearing his name much more going forward.
He was all district at quarterback for a reason, very athletic under center leading Courtland on a deep playoff run.

Chieftain is a communicator at the Safety position with visible signals and calls made pre-snap on the field. He shows very good processing of offensive schemes at the start of the play, with very good vision and reaction. Shows good hip fluidity in pass coverage and can turn and run with receivers and force incompletions. Good run support, with good reaction time to run plays to come downhill displaying good tackling, especially in the open field. Takes very good angles in the open field to track down runners. Not scared of contact and willing to play physical at the point of attack.
