Matt Morrow | Prep Redzone Scout
Chase is a big, strong-armed quarterback that you can really get excited watching. He’s got the tools that you want to be a good quarterback from the pocket. The only thing missing is all of the film you want when evaluating a quarterback, and he played behind a good player last season. Indications are this season that he’s got a strong chance to become the starting quarterback for the Vikings, and with a recent coaching change, Chase has a clean slate to build from for the upcoming season. We’ve got him on the Watch List because we think he’s a player that can jump on the scene strong going into his senior year for South Iredell.

Sarver has excellent size and flashed in limited reps as a junior. He has good footwork and pocket presence, allowing him to deliver the ball, even when under pressure. While he’s not a run-first quarterback, Sarver has movement skills and can use his legs to pick up tough yards.

Chase definitely fit the profile for a watchlist player for us, mainly because he didn’t get many varsity snaps this past season, but he had some good reps at the CFI Carolinas Winter Showcase back in December, and his physical traits are very strong at 6’4 with a strong arm and impressive pocket presence as a prospect. Chase should get his chance to perform this season in a South Iredell offense that became known for throwing the ball a good bit last season. I’m eager to see what Chase does with this opportunity.
