About Charlie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a low pad, quick twitch, fast off the ball, aggressive run-stuffing nose guard that craves the thump. My motor does not stop. I love the crowd. I can play hat to hat, or up at the d-end position. I work to win every rep. My hands and technique can control the rep, or I can bull rush into the backfield. I am smart, and know my position and others. Serve Christ, and win State!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

As a young kid I played year round travel baseball. I pitched, caught, played 3b. My teammates called me “biscuit” because of my muscular…backside. I am intelligent, and taking advanced and Honors courses. But I am zanny, love to laugh. I work hard, love Jesus, but I’m motivating “Good Time Charlie”.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Beta Club, National Honors Society, Greenwood Football-13X AR 6A State Champs (78 straight home wins), Lifeguard Summer Waterpark, played Santa Claus for kids over Christmas break. FBC-Greenwood youth group, yearly church camp attendee, Baseball through 9th grade (hit dingers).

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I was praised/honored in the school paper by the principal for stopping in the cafeteria to clean up a kids lunch dropped on the floor. Replacing it. Right thing to do. I lead by example and voice. My parents teach me to stay humble, work hard, put God first. Always look to help those who can not help themselves. I have been selected to escort at this year’s senior graduation.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In 7th grade I moved from Sumrall/Hattiesburg, MS to Greenwood/Fort Smith, AR. Obviously it was fine. But at the time I thought my life was over. Leaving my travel baseball team, besties since little kids. Kicking and screaming. But God always has a plan. I have lost grandparents and uncles, but I know where they are. Going 37:1, losing this year’s 6A championship to a team we beat earlier hurt.

What type of college are you looking for?

I have been at a high school that treats football like a college program. I feel I know culture. It’s stability, repeated success, formula, true brotherhood, true merit. Process. Results. Major: pre-med, business, or aviation. Who leads at the top? Will they be there tomorrow? These are things important to me.
