About Channing

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a team-first player who runs every route with purpose and precision. I take pride in my crisp routes, strong hands, and being a reliable target when it matters. I explode off the line with a burst of speed to create separation and make plays. My focus is on doing my job the right way—whether it’s getting open, making tough catches, or helping my team move the chains.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I try to always be a leader and put the team first, whether I'm the one making plays or not. My focus is on building a strong team and doing whatever it takes to help us succeed. I'm extremely competitive and my own toughest critic—I always want more and push myself to be better every day. I have a quiet style, sitting back and taking everything in, but when it’s time to step up, I’m always ready.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was honored to be nominated by my coaches to be part of my school’s Athletic Leadership Council. In this role, I take part in meetings focused on growing as both an athlete and a person, developing leadership skills, and setting a strong example for others. We build a positive school culture and give back through community-based events, using sports as a way to make an impact beyond the field.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Being an athlete has taught me discipline, accountability, and the value of improvement. It’s not just about competition, but leadership and representing my school positively. Through training, competition, and my role in the ALC, I’ve learned sports bring people together and teach life lessons about hard work, commitment, and perseverance. I take pride in the impact I can have beyond the game.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is being part of a team that runs an offense that doesn’t always utilize my position. I’m always eager to contribute more, so it’s been tough not having as many opportunities to make an impact. Instead of letting that frustrate me, I’ve focused on controlling what I can—perfecting my routes, being a great teammate, and staying ready for any chance I get.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a competitive team and a focused program that will challenge me to become the best player I can be. I want a team environment that values leadership and character, helping me grow into the best man I can be. A strong academic school is also important to set me up for a successful future.
