Evans made an impact on the defensive side of the ball last season. He made 50 overall tackles (30 solo). Evans lined up primarily at middle linebacker but is versatile enough to play on the outside as well. He’s undersized, but that doesn’t seem to matter after looking at his film. Evans diagnoses the run quickly and covers a lot of ground quickly. When left unblocked, Evans causes havoc in the backfield. He’s a sideline-to-sideline guy who stays square to the line of scrimmage and maintains gap integrity. He’s one of the top returning linebackers in Class 4A.
