The speedster for Craig County had a monster senior season at Safety and Running Back. He amassed 47.5 TKL, 7 TFL, 1 INT, 5 PBU, and 1 FR on defense. On offense, he had 150 Rush ATT, 1,439 YDS, and 23 TDs. He also added 3 Punt Return TDs as well. His speed and athleticism is attractive to any D2 or D3 school looking to add a playmaker to their team.

Calfee is breaking out this fall for Craig County he is a stalwart/workhorse running back who is gashing defenses weekly. A good instinctive football player, Carter Calfee also received an offer from Oberlin College yesterday. He can play safety or linebacker in my opinion at the next level and do not be surprised to see him contributing on special teams too. Wherever Calfee ends up that school is getting an immediate impact football player.

Carter is a player who will be counted on by the Rockets this fall. He will be a two-way player at Running Back and Safety. He has a top end speed that not many will catch on the field that I was able to witness last fall at a game I attended. Expect him to make a presence on Special Teams as well.

Forgot to include Calfee’s offer last week, but it has to be mentioned as he is one of the most overlooked prospects in our 2026 class. The all district running back a year ago, Calfee is poised for a rankings boost in our new addition coming out later in June.

I was able to see Carter play earlier this year, and his speed and burst on the field stood out to me. Craig County is going to have a nice backfield next year, and Carter will be a key piece to their run game with his good vision and elusiveness as a ball carrier. He is also a defensive back showing good range and ability to process the game to read the offense. Willing to come down in run support and is a dependable tackler. He will be one to watch as he continues to develop the remainder of this season and through the off season heading into his senior year.

The score for Craig County came curtesy of a 65-yard kick return TD from Carter. It was a shorter kick off, and he was able to find a crease and then showed very good burst and acceleration, and no one was able to catch him. Throughout the game, he proved his toughness running the rock in Craig County’s Wing-T offense and was involved in a number of defensive plays from his DB position.

Carter has good height and size. Shows good athleticism with good foot quickness, acceleration, change of direction, and lateral agility. Utilized in both the receiving and running game for Craig County’s offense. He has good acceleration in his routes and is a player you can throw the ball to and trust that he will come down with the catch displaying very good adjust to the ball and good ability to catch in traffic. As a ball carrier, he shows good strength and agility, utilizing his good lateral movement and foot quickness to evade defenders and has good vision to sneak through the hole and find the second and third levels. Very good processing and anticipation as a defensive back. He has the ability to play as a deep safety, box safety, and nickelback. His very good processing allows him to quickly diagnose his run/pass reads, jump routes to force turnovers, and be in a position to make a play on the ball. Shows good strength and physical toughness as a tackler and can be trusted to make a tackle in the open field. The best part is that he just completed his sophomore season and has two more years to grow and develop. He was honored with 1st team All-District RB and DB and 2nd team All-Region RB and DB this past season.
