Carter is a good athlete and is a two way player and his athleticism will allow him to play on either side of the ball. He plays well under chaos, and the game is slow for him. As an undersized quarterback, he does well moving around the pocket and finding his passing window. He does well resetting the pocket and making it difficult for the pass rush to get to him. As a safety, he uses his background as a quarterback to show good anticipation. He has good movement patterns and is a player who finds a way to get on the field.
