has been a 2026 linebacker we’ve had on our radar for quite a while. Williamson first burst onto the scene following his freshman season and he’s another example of a prospect that feels like he’s been in high school for more than three years already. Williamson is one of the returning starters for Nathan Hale on the defensive side of the ball. When we look at what the Rangers bring back from a personnel standpoint, we really like what they have on the front seven and Williamson should be the leader of that group with his experience.

has been on a player on our radar since the end of his freshman season. Williamson is going to be a three-year starter for the Rangers when he takes the field this fall and was very productive from the linebacker position last season. Williamson finished the 2023 season with nearly 50 tackles. He also had five sacks and eight tackles for loss. We’ve seen Williamson line up as an edge runner or further away as an outside linebacker. Either way, the Nathan Hale junior has the ability to be a game-wrecker on the defensive side of the ball.

has been consistently one of the top guys at his position. Whether he’s lining up as a traditional linebacker or closer to the line of scrimmage like an edge rusher, Williamson finds a way to create havoc wherever he’s coming from. Williamson has the attention of college coaches in the area and it feels like only a matter of time before they pull the trigger on that first offer. Williamson has been a name to know since his freshman season and he’s continuing to get better. This season could be a monster season for him.

Nathan Hale has a few prospects that you need to know about in the 2025 and 2026 classes. Sophomore linebacker

is certainly one of them and he’s had a strong sophomore season to continue his momentum from this offseason. Williamson is lining up as an outside linebacker or an edge rusher on the line of scrimmage and he has been causing problems for opponents. Williamson has some good moves to get off blocks and when you combine that with his overall speed, he’s a match-up problem for opposing offensive linemen. Williamson does a good job of tracking down the ball carrier. Williamson is also a standout on the track and you can see that speed when he’s in the open field.

Nathan Hale appears to be primed for a big turnaround when you look at some of the talent they have coming back on both sides of the ball. Leading the way on the defensive side of the ball will be

at the linebacker position. Williamson is going to be a game-wrecking backer coming off the edge for the Rangers. He could be listed as a linebacker or defensive end when you consider how close to the line of scrimmage he’s going to be throughout the season. But we like Williamson at the linebacker position and based on his film from his freshman season, he’s going to be an absolute problem for opposing offensive linemen. Williamson comes off the edge with bad intentions each time.

Every time we do a ranking update, we find out about prospects that maybe have flown under the radar and were new to us. A perfect example of that is Nathan Hale freshman

, who is listed as a linebacker but could also be considered a defensive end. Two weeks ago, we didn’t know about Williamson. But after throwing on the tape, it was apparent that not only did he belong in the first ranking, but he was one of the better defensive prospects already. The first thing that jumps off the tape is his size. He simply does not look like a freshman and if he continues to grow, his stock will only go up and he’ll be moved closer to the line of scrimmage at the next level. His motor was another thing that really stood out. Williamson rarely gave up on plays and even if he was 20-30 yards away from the ball, he would make an effort every time and that paid off quite a bit.
