Patton Fitzpatrick | Prep Redzone Scout
Brooks is a 6’3, 258 lbs defensive tackle out of Homewood Flossmoor. While he can play defensive end as well, Brooks primarily dominated from a 4i or 3 technique. In his junior campaign, he finished the season with 58 tackles, 39 pressures, 11 quarterback hits, and 10 tackles for loss. He has one of the quickest first steps off the ball that we’ve seen, as the highly athletic defensive linemen fires off the snap and can shoot a gap in a hurry. He rarely gets cut off by offensive linemen and has the strength to shed blocks and disrupt the opposing run game in the backfield. Keep an eye on this rising star in Brooks as he heads into his senior year.

. After balling out at the Lindenwood megacamp in early June, Brooks added three offers in one day, including from his home state Illini program and another P5 offer from KU. With a great first step and get-off, a long, strong frame that can add more good weight, strength & physicality at the point of attack, positional versatility, and active hands, Brooks is still just beginning to scratch the surface of his potential, something I’m sure his college suitors have taken note of and are excited about. He’s got more camps planned for the rest of the summer, so the offer list may be growing soon!

is a defensive lineman to have on your radar for the class of 2025. Cameron is a big 6’3 and 240 edge player that moves with intention on the football field. With his size and strength, Cameron owns the line of scrimmage and forces penetration in both the run game and pass game. Cameron has fast hands that allow him to win the leverage game in the trenches and uses that leverage to make plays on the ball carrier no matter where it is. One of the biggest assets that Cameron has is that he can play on the exterior and the interior of the defensive line. With a skillset like Cameron’s, it won’t be long until he is in the top tier of defensive linemen in the state of Illinois.

Homewood-Flossmoor produces highly talented young men year in and year out. Mr. Brooks is primed to be the next up-and-coming D-Lineman to come through the Vikings program. The potential he has and the upside are impressive for how young of a player he is. What stands out the most about this young man is how he can either jolt the run blocker upright to disrupt plays in the backfield or work as a two gap defender. Both of which are impressive for such a young defensive player to have. Time will tell how dominant of an interior D-Lineman he will become over the course of his high school career, but as of right now the future is looking bright for this young man. Twitter
