I talked about Absher a lot last year, and I’m glad to see he’s still balling out. The 6’0 205-pound senior is #2 in total tackles with 96. Of those 96 (49 solo, 47 assisted), 10 TFL, 4 sacks, 6 QB hurries, 1 Int, and 1 pass deflection. Absher has very good athletic ability due to elite acceleration, very good speed, and good change of direction. Versatile linebacker to drop into coverage, and still excel at rushing the passer. His initial quickness off the LOS is impressive. Absher uses his very good strength to overpower the offensive line. He runs right through double blocks. Absher has a very good bull rush to knock the OL around. He is consistently in the backfield, identifying gaps and rushing them. Absher plays with a fire to him. He is always giving it his all, and when he locks onto a guy, he doesn’t stop. Colleges NEED to look his way, he’s got all the talent plus more.

Absher leaped all the way into the #7 spot for LB’s with his high motor and looking like he has been shot out of a cannon when he brings pressure. He has great vision being able to read and react quickly. He can make tackles in the open field and with the way he is able to diagnose the play, he is making plays at the line of scrimmage or getting a TFL. He has offers from Bethel College and the University of Jamestown. He will be a player to keep on the radar this season.

Understands routs and is always at the right place at the right time. He’s got good vision, and was making plays throughout drills and 1 on 1s. He’s a good tackler, and wraps up offensive players with ease. Absher is a name to watch out, and more eyes should be on this kid.

Absher had a monster game against Grandview. Absher was a constant thorn in their side. Accounting for 17 total tackles (10 solo, 7 assisted), 1 TFL and 1 fumble recovery. Whether he was lined up at edge or off ball linebacker, he was making plays. First thing you see on the tape is his high motor and competitive toughness. He was everywhere, and wouldn’t give up on plays. High tenacity as well. He demonstrates good burst of quickness at the line of scrimmage. Mixed with a low pad level, he’ll beat the offensive line and make a play. Absher is like a rocket being propelled into space. He has very good downhill and side to side speed. He has good vision, and reads the QB’s eye to know where to go. He runs through gaps to plug runs and will wrap defenders like a bear hug. He was also showcasing his punt return skills. Great performance to end the season, and I’m excited to see what he can do next season.
