Rothwell was unstoppable in his element on the line, making three pancake blocks with his tremendous energy and strength up front. He also shined in the pass-catching game,  dominating the Cougars defense with five catches for 78 yards and a touchdown. An irreplaceable senior leader for the Bengals who can do just about anything to help his offense tick, Rothwell has become one of the most complete football players in the state over his career.

The versatile tight end and blocker built off his stellar form over last summer, thriving as a strong pass catcher downfield while also excelling as an elite run blocker. He’s an extraordinarily tough one to match up with thanks to his size and frame while possessing quality hands. Rothwell is developing to be an outstanding prospect and will prove his worth to his team again this year. 

Rothwell is one of the more versatile tight ends that we’ve seen on film. He has great size for the position and can really move around well. He blocks at the point of attack with violent hands and drives opposing defensive backs into the ground. But he’s also another tight end that you have to keep your eye on his ability to catch the football, which he can do well. He made one acrobatic catch in the face of a defender who had an open hit on him.
