Any team that makes it out of the Memphis Shelby County Interscholastic Athletic Association (MSCIAA) deserves all the praise that is thrown its way, because it is no small task. By sheer population numbers alone, Shelby County is the largest in the state by more than 216,00 residents. Couple that with the amount of pure athletic talent that comes out of the West Tennessee, and it doesn’t take long to realize what quarterback Brooks Wright Brooks Wright 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Memphis Central | 2028 State TN and Bellevue did this year was special. Behind the right arm of Brooks and his MVP performance in the 26-0 victory over Havnview in City Championship game, the Bobcats were cookin’ all season long. Wright was QB1 for a team that outscored opponents 318-20 in eight regular season games, averaging nearly 40 points a game and pitching five consecutive shutouts to start the season. As of right now, Brooks Wright Brooks Wright 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Memphis Central | 2028 State TN will be at Memphis Central in the fall and will attempt to help the Warriors finish over .500 for just the second time in the last six seasons.

When I first started evaluating middle school talent, one of the first middle school programs I was told to know about in Tennessee was Bellevue Middle School of the Memphis-Shelby County Interscholastic Athletic Association. That has rang true and the Bobcats have produced players that appear to recruitable every year. This year is no different, with quarterback Brooks Wright Brooks Wright 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Memphis Central | 2028 State TN being one of the standouts. He was surrounded with weapons and was blessed with strong, aggressive offensive line that gave him time, but make no bones about it–Wright is crazy-accurate, calm and appeared to be an extension of the coaching staff on the field. He added an exclamation point to his season with an MVP performance in the County Championship Game, leading Bellevue to a 26-0 victory.
