“Payton was a standout in the LB group, and was recognized by coaches post-event. I have said it before, but the showcase setting takes away half the game for the LB position, but he still found a way to stand out. He is a big body, but a much better athlete than you’d think. He has good foot speed, is sudden, and stepped up and competed in coverage against speedier guys. Just a rock-solid player with two years to develop and garner attention at a powerhouse in Blessed Trinity.”
