James demonstrates a strong anchor vs bull or speed-to-power rushers, attributed to his good lower body and core strength, coupled with good hand placement to control his opponents. Good short-area quickness enables him to execute reach blocks efficiently and advance to the second level quickly. His power and strength facilitate the displacement of defenders in the interior, and he takes good angles on both inside, and outside zone runs.

Benton’s Brody James Brody James 6'0" | 270 lbs | OL Benton | 2027 State AR has the ability to play both ways in the trenches. I previously discussed his talents on the offensive side and now we are transitioning to the defensive side of the trenches. James has a quick first step, initiating contact and power first. Strong lower body with good hand placement to allow himself to beat his man. Able to cause havoc in the backfield while being a force in the interior. Excited to watch him play in 2024.

Benton’s offensive lineman Brody James Brody James 6'0" | 270 lbs | OL Benton | 2027 State AR displays good short-area quickness, allowing himself to reach the second level quickly. Good hand placement and footwork while creating leverage against his defender. Strong upper and lower body, driving his opponents back. Takes consistent and good angles when blocking. Don’t be shocked if you hear his name mentioned quite a few times during the 2024 season.

James comes out of Benton high school demonstrating great fire off the ball with the ability to disrupt the play. Good ability to keep his eyes downfield allowing him to make a play at any moment. His strength is the best aspect of his game, and his size will intrigue a lot of coaches at the next level!

At last measurement was 6-foot and 240-pounds, but has likely grown since then. The definition of country strong, was bench pressing 275-pounds with ease, this past August ahead of his 8th grade season. Quick off the ball as an interior Defensive Lineman and doesn’t miss many tackles if he gets a hand on a ball carrier.

The term country strong is quite fitting for James, as the 6-foot, 240-pound lineman is already benching nearly 300 pounds. The kind of strength allows him to do a good job of shedding his blockers and creating depth in the backfield. As an interior defensive guy, he has a nonstop motor and has a knack of finding the football quickly. Also has the ability to chase down plays going away from him. On offense he does a nice job setting the edge and is always football savvy enough to know when to get to the second level to pick up a block. Overall, he’s a solid anchor on either side of the line and should be a player who contributes quickly at the next level.
