He is an excellent tackler who usually makes tackles in or near the line of scrimmage. He also shows a good ability to get off blocks. Then this allows him to get free to make tackles. On a few plays, he blitzed. He looked like a heat-seeking missile flying downhill, making tackles. McMullen is also good at pass coverage as he is a complete linebacker. McMullen is a good player who has excellent skills.

He brings a physical brand of football that immediately stands out during camp competition. McMullen plays downhill, attacks gaps aggressively, and shows the ability to finish plays with authority. His size and strength allow him to take on blockers and remain effective against the run. He also displays solid athleticism in space and moves well during positional drills. The camp setting has highlighted his leadership qualities and competitive nature. Linebackers with his combination of size and instincts are always valuable commodities in recruiting circles. McMullen continues to prove that he belongs among the top defensive prospects in Pennsylvania’s 2027 class.

McMullen is making the trip from Pennsylvania to Ohio this Saturday. In a small LB/RB class, I want to see how he compares to the competition we have and if he can take away a top spot from our Ohio linebacker crew.

He has good instincts on how to play as an inside linebacker. He reads and deciphers, plays well, and then attacks against the offense. McMullen will have a chance to learn and grow at this showcase, but I can see him doing well at the position drill portion of the showcase.

He has a great combination of size and speed to play the position. His ability to read and react to the play is excellent. He has a great feel for how to play the game. Then he shows good ability to make tackles in the open field. He also showed an excellent ability to cover receivers man-to-man defense, which is impressive. McMullen showed a ton of progress last year and should improve next year and should be even better.
