- 6’0, 160 pounds. A sophomore DB with five minutes worth of tape on Hudl, great production as an underclassman.
Excels in off-coverage alignments. Hicks’s tape starts off with two interceptions, one of which was a well-played inside sit on a corner route in the end zone, Hicks showed off great ball skills to reel this one in. Second pick came with Hicks back tracking to his third of the field to catch a floater, good ball-tracking skills here. A willing tackler from what I can tell, Hicks excels when keeping things in front of him. Great hands and footwork on in-breaking routes when aligned 6-8 yards off, great diagnosing of screens in front of him too. Shows off a back pedal on tape occasionally, love the lack of false steps. I want to see him run downfield a bit more, how does he handle boundary speed? Either way, this is a rankable DB on our site moving forward.
