Hemmerling is an exciting back for Del Norte. He is a two-sport athlete playing varsity football and track. Last season, he had 64 carries for 300 yards with 4 touchdowns including 2 receptions for 15 yards. He has good athletic ability due to very good balance, good speed, change of direction, and acceleration. Hemmerling uses his good vision to pick the open gap to run through. Picks, slides, and accelerates with ease. Uses his very good inside running to attack defenses and follow his OL in short yardage situations. Hemmerling does a great job gaining yards after contact with his contact balance. Sheds tackles or bounces off DB while also dragging defenders for the extra yardage. Solid ball tracking and catching out of the backfield. In limited action, he showed promise. Hemmerling is looking to capitalize off a productive off-season and take the state by storm.

Follows his OL in short yardage situation to get the first down. Good outside running. He’ll use his balance to consistently gain yards and shed tackles. I’m intrigued to see how he continues to develop this off-season!

He has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, good speed, change of direction, and balance. Explosive quick start and uses his good vision to find a route through the defense. Good inside and outside running. He isn’t afraid of putting his shoulder drive to truck through the defender. He thrives with contact. Hemmerling is currently averaging 4.7 yards per carry. When he’s given the ball, he’ll consistently get yards. I’m excited to see how the rest of his high school career continues.
