Representing New London-Spicer, a Greater Minnesota football program that has been an awesome feeder into the MIAC and DIII football ranks of the state, WR Brecken Westby Brecken Westby 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB New Londonspicer | 2027 MN has bumped himself off the PRZMN Watchlist thanks to his performance at Saturday’s St. Olaf College Prospect Camp. Good frame, consistent, front-of-the-line leader and competitor, and was noticeably quick in and out of his breaks as route runner and separator. Should be a big summer and 2026 senior campaign for this up-and-coming NLS Wildcat.

Another 2027 a day or two away from entering our Ranking’s Big Board, New London-Spicer always has some exciting, athletic, and dynamic talents on their football roster, and PRZMN thoroughly enjoyed an in-depth look at 2027 Brecken Westby Brecken Westby 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB New Londonspicer | 2027 MN at the 612Q’s Offensive Skills Camp. Quick and shifty at the LOS, Westby had some impressive acceleration to his game and was one of the more obvious deep threats out of the Blue Group of WRs. Stay tuned on Twitter in the next day or two for the 2027 Big Board micro-update!

Ever since I played a New London-Spicer product in college, I’ve paid special attention to the Wildcats and their dynamic, tough, exciting prospects and recruits year to year. Brecken Westby Brecken Westby 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB New Londonspicer | 2027 MN certainly fits the description, and he’s right on the cusp of entering the ranking’s Big Board thanks to his junior campaign. As a HB/wing in his first clip – Westby takes a jet sweep, stretches the defense, then sticks his cleat in the turf, gets vertical, and beautifully splits two defenders, bouncing them off one another and then strutting into the endzone, showcasing some exciting top-end explosiveness and athletic ability. He finished 2025 with 20 completions on 50 attempts for 332 yards (16.2 average) and 2 TDs, 29 carries for 118 yards, 12 catches for 122 yards and 1 TD, 8 tackles, 1 FF, and 1 INT. Talk about doing a little bit of everything!
Westby has a nose for the endzone, is a good route runner out of the slot who can create separation at the top of the route, and is light on his feet and quick after the catch. The 165 lber. defeats blocks with physicality out on the perimeter as a cornerback, setting the edge with proper leverage and really bringing aggression to run defense from his CB spot. Westby also displays some excellent elusiveness, improvisation skills, and ability to extend plays with his legs as a QB, as well as some touch and arm strength as a passer. On the flip side, he also showed he can get open as a WR when his QB gets outside of the pocket and needs someone to get open. What a skillset to work with going into the next level! Hope to see Westby at the upcoming PrepRedzoneMN Spring Exposure Showcase on April 18th in Plymouth.
