Brayden Watson Brayden Watson MD ‘s nickname should be Mr. Fundamental, because I love his mechanics and footwork. His mechanics and footwork are excellent. He takes short and compact steps when he steps back to throw the ball. Then his arm slot is perfect. He also shows good accuracy. The other part of his game that I love is his swag. He won a state title at Patuxent as a Freshman. The kid is just a winner, and he played well all day. Watson has a bright future.

took the state by storm in his debut season, putting together a campaign that looked anything but underclassman-led. Watson piled up 2,600 passing yards and 31 passing touchdowns, showing poise, command, and production well beyond his years while guiding Patuxent to a 10–3 championship season.
In the championship game, Watson delivered a statement performance, throwing for 250 yards and three touchdowns, dissecting the defense and leading his team to a title. With elite early production and a championship résumé already on his ledger, Watson has established himself as one of the state’s exciting young quarterback prospects. If this is the baseline for his career, the ceiling over the next three seasons is extremely high.

Brayden kept doing what he’s been doing all year long in Patuxent’s 48-0 win over Washington HS, and that is racking up big passing numbers. In their big win, Brayden threw for 273 yds on 87% passing. He also added 4 passing scores and one rushing TD on the day. The freshman QB has been playing lights out all season long for Patuxent. He has thrown for over 2,000 yds, 23 TDs and only thrown 4 interceptions. Proving to be on of the top passers in his class with tons of upside, Brayden will need to continue his strong play against a tough Alegany team this week in the regional finals.

Watson has a high accuracy rate of 71.2% (super solid for the high school level). Watson is averaging 196.6 yards per game with five games of 200-plus yards passing. The touchdown to interception ratio is superb, let’s call it 6:1. In his wins, his quarterback rating was 138.4 (15 touchdowns to 1 interception). His team will play Washington in an MPSSAA playoff game on November 14th.

Brayden is a freshman QB who got the start from game 1 for Patuxent and has been playing as if he was a multi year varsity starter already. In 4 games he has 844 passing yards, on 69% passing with 9 TDs and only 1 interception. That is excellent production for a freshman that has gone up against some top teams on the year already.
He may only be 5’10” right now but he stands tall in the pocket and can shoot it down field. Throws with good timing & anticipation and in the rhythm with the offense. Already showing he is a good decision maker with his high completion percentage and limited turnovers. As Brayden continues to grow and get stronger he will only be more dangerous as thrower back in the pocket. Certainly a QB to keep eyes on going forward.
Congratulations to the following SMAC Athletes on being named MPSSAA Week 4 Stars:@patuxentfootbal‘s Brayden Watson
