Petersen is a very active edge rusher that snaps off the ball, has a good initial strike and LOS reset and shows he can punch off and redirect off blocks quickly without losing ground. He is a high motor kid that can pursue backside, reads blocks well and can transition from run to pass quickly with proper hands, natural bend around the corner and is always in pursuit to the ball. Petersen has a leaner frame but can hold more weight and is a plus athlete for his size and is seemingly comfortable in the open field and offers nice position versatility. Look for him to be a key defensive line breakout player across Idaho this Fall.
