Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
One of the more productive 2027 quarterbacks across West Georgia, Wilkinson is an athletic multi-sport standout who is playing quarterback at a really high level through the first half of the season. The 6-foot-1 185-pounder has thrown for an impressive 1,513 yards and 17 touchdown passes. He’s been safe and efficient with the ball but has also shown enough arm talent to push the ball down the field vertically. His best game came in a week one win over Terrell County where he threw for 410 yards and five touchdowns during a big 48-6 win. Look for Wilkinson to be added to the next 2027 Prep Redzone rankings this winter.

Through the first half of the season, Wilkinson looks like the biggest breakout candidate in Georgia at the QB position. From a measurable standpoint, Wilkinson is adequate and checks the requisite boxes. He has a quick release, the ball jumps out of his hand, and he does a fantastic job of adding touch on the ball and getting it to turn over. When the play breaks down, he does a good job of stepping up to evade and keep the play alive. I am confident enough to say that Wilkinson has D1 traits as a passer.

*Wilkinson now plays at Calvary Christian*
I will be keeping track of Wilkinson throughout this fall, which should be his breakout season. To open the year, he finished with 6 total TDs, including 5 in the air. I thought Wilkinson impressed in several facets of the game. His touch to all levels of the field was on display, and he has good enough arm strength to muscle the ball while off-platform or fading away. He is twitchy in the pocket and plays with some energy on the move, conducting traffic as a passer and playing with some pop in his pads as a runner. I have liked the early flashes from Wilkinson, but he admittedly surprised me in week 1 and will be someone I take a closer look at.

is waiting in the shadows behind another D1 QB prospect, but he has had a good offseason in his own right and has steadily been raising his stock. He stands at 6’1 170 and is well-built for his age. He has a clean delivery, throwing with all cleats in the ground and has clean arm action with little to no wasted movements. He has decent mobility, escaping pressure and possessing the arm strength needed to throw on the move. He can bomb the ball downfield and put touch on the deep ball, unlocking most areas of the field. Wilkinson should generate some D1 buzz over the next few years as he adds more varsity experience to his name.
