Just another match up nightmare for defenses, Braxton lines up all over the field (WR, Slot, TE, FB) to find the mismatch and take advantage of the defender covering him. He is the one “Tight end” on this list who will end up playing a true Wide Receiver at the next level because of his size/speed. He catches the ball well in traffic and does enough blocking at the point of attack to be effective in the run game. He caught 7 touchdowns in 2022 and I would definitely look for him to eclipse that in 2023. His Twitter handle is @braxtonbartz
I got a chance to see Mr. Bartz LIVE in action during his team’s contest versus Plainfield East where he was able to come away with a TD score. Since then, he’s continued his production and is going to see a switch from the watchlist into our rankings. Turn on his first clip of his highlights below and you can see just how big of a threat he can be working out of the slot. In this clip, he’s able to run a seam route and go up for the 50/50 ball in double coverage on the deep shot downfield. This young man is able to come down with the catch by high pointing the ball and he does this in a few other clips in his highlights as well. What’s interesting is how he can also line up as an H back and get utilized either in run blocking or in the air attack. One trait to keep an eye on in this regard is when he checks and releases as he finds himself wide to secure the catch before getting vertical to keep the chains moving. He’s on the watchlist right now but expect Mr. Bartz to crack into the rankings once this season is concluded. Currently, he holds no offers but I would keep a close eye on his production the rest of this fall season as he has traits that would transition well to the next level. Twitter
