Beck isn’t the biggest player on the field, but he’s always one of the most productive. He’s a 2-way player who seemingly never comes off the field and was their workhorse back on offense last year. Beck has back-to-back 1000+ yard seasons in the backfield. 1460 with 20 TDs with 7.6 YPC as a junior. He then turned around and added 102 tackles, 5 TFLs, 1 sack, and a pass deflected defensively. I appreciate guys like him who do it all and don’t expect a big parade when the job is done.

There weren’t a ton of running backs there this weekend so the ones who did show up got a bunch of reps and opportunities. One of those guys who took full advantage was Beck. Beck is a guy I haven’t seen much of, but he’s talented. He can win in short areas and make guys miss. He’s thick enough to take a beating in the trenches and take on a big workload. It was a solid performance from the small school back.
