A rare find in small-town Minnesota is an offensive lineman with the size to play D1 football, and fortunately for Melrose, Goihl fits that bill. The big guy is agile enough to play guard consistently and has shown he can reliably block smaller defenders in open space. I’d like for him to fire off the line a little lower, but his potential to be a high-level starter at the collegiate level is clear. Goihl playing small-town ball might mean that he doesn’t get the attention he deserves in terms of recruiting, but that means whoever gets him is getting a steal of a prospect.
