Bellar ended his junior season with 49 tackles, a TFL, an interception, a fumble recovery, and a rushing touchdown while splitting time at FB, TE, DB, and LB. With Blaine’s frame and athleticism, I see him projecting best at safety, where his versatility allows him to play closer to the line of scrimmage to load up the box, or you can play him deep in coverage. He does a great job reading and diagnosing plays and is very quick to break and close on the ball to limit big plays. When defending the run, I was impressed with Blaine’s ability to disengage from blockers and continue his pursuit of the ball. Bellar plays with a tireless motor that keeps him in the play from snap to whistle. Solid tackler and physicality.
