Another piece to the Eagan Wildcat’s 2024 success, senior 6’2, 225 lber. and LB/DL hybrid Bennett Larson Bennett Larson 6'0" | 230 lbs | LB/DL Eagan | 2025 State MN is a PrepRedzoneMN Showcase standout who passes the eye test and is an All-District Honorable Mention pick from 2023. He’s also a good wrestler to add to his athletic profile and made a gameday visit to FCS competitor Drake, as well as DII Concordia-St. Paul, in September. Larson, with his college-ready size, is a good tackler who can navigate and sift through traffic while running down the rock. He closes well, has improved his speed this offseason, and has been closing on ball carriers with pace this 2024 season. Larson is strong enough to easily hold blockers at bay and make tackles through contact and has been productive and disruptive in 2024, making tackles and sacks behind the LOS and stuffing RBs to negate positive gains. Someone is due for a rankings bump!

There were a lot of points scored, but one defender stood out above all. Most of the Panthers’ success came running to the edges and not much between the tackles – often because of Larson. He shot a gap early and used his speed to make a tackle for loss, forcing a punt. Then, he recovered a first quarter fumble. He stuffed a run near the goal line. He showed his knowledge of the game when he read a quarterback draw for a short gain.

A thumper playing across the middle of the field in Minnesota’s biggest class of football, Larson tallied 11 total tackles and 1 TFL in a big Week 4 win against Lakeville South. Larson plays downhill exceptionally well and despite his big frame, is surprisingly quick and closes in on his targets rapidly. He does a great job of fighting through offensive linemen and has been playing exceptionally well throughout his senior season.
