Powhatan’s capped off an incredible career with a record setting night for the Indians. He hauled in a ridiculous 14 receptions with 257 yards and 2 touchdowns. Eclipsing numerous school records Whitver had an evening that wont be forgotten. The James Madison Commit finished his senior season with 9 touchdowns and over 900 yards.

had a flurry of options but he too decided to stay in state with his commitment to James Madison today. Whitver could be a big play threat for the Dukes, he had 52 receptions with 12 touchdowns as a junior. The playmaker’s offers ranged from Liberty to Penn State but it was Coach Chesney and company who obtained his services. We have been high on this young man for a couple of seasons and it turns out we were right.

is getting another major offer. James Madison came through over the weekend, giving the top ranked prospect over 10 FBS level offers. A big lanky target who knows how to create space, the special talent is being hard sought by schools such as Penn State, Syracuse and UNLV just to name a few.

Ben is jumping onto people’s radars and picked up a Penn State offer earlier this year. He plays in an offense with many playmakers, and he took advantage of his opportunities with 3 receptions, 123 yards, and 2 TDs, averaging 41 yards per reception. His two receiving touchdowns were screens he took to the house, showing his very good run after catch ability, vision, elusiveness, and change of direction. Ben is a name you will want to remember and keep your eyes on, and I expect we will see more offers coming his way in the future.

Ben is currently ranked as our 3rd WR and 27th overall prospect in the class of 2026 for the state of Virginia. His sophomore campaign lived up to this ranking. He has very good height and solid body size and displays very good acceleration, good foot quickness, foot speed, lateral quickness, change of direction, and solid balance. He has good release off the line of scrimmage accelerating into his route. Shows the ability to run the entire route tree due to his good foot quickness, lateral agility, and speed, and has the ability to manipulate defenders in his route stems. He has very good hands, is able to catch in stride with his hands and body, and also shows very good adjustment to throws outside of his frame in all directions and good ability to secure a catch through contact. As a ball carrier, he is very elusive, utilizing his good COD to juke defenders, and his very good acceleration to run past them. He has two more seasons to develop, and I expect that he will be forcing schools to pay attention to him.

If you are not buying stock on Whitever already you are behind the curve, this young man is legit. Written about him previously and when you watch his tape you will see what I saw a game changer. Whitever has exceptional hands is a very good route runner and has already given opposing defensive coordinators nightmares as a freshman. Be on the lookout for what he does in the Dominion Region this fall, I expect him to lead the region in receptions.

Expect to see Whitver carving up defenses all over the state this Fall. We talked about him previously but as a freshman all he did was account for 7 touchdowns and nearly 700 yards receiving, pretty darn impressive if you ask me (or anyone for that matter). This young man is catching our attention and has been working on his craft all off-season, cant wait to see him ball out this fall!

Keep an eye on Whitver this fall as he appears to be a big time target the next couple of seasons for Powhatan. All he did as a freshman for the Indians is tally 6 touchdowns and over 600 yards receiving. At 6’2 with a long stride like his, this kid is going to drive defensive backs crazy in the Dominion District. He has exceptional hands already and is another two sport (Basketball) star for his school. Boasting a 4.0 GPA, I would be shocked if the Patriot League does not come calling his way soon.
