Ben has been putting in work this offseason.
Just looking at last season’s tape, stats, and what he’s done so far this offseason makes me confident of an explosive 2025 season. 7on7, camps, and more. Ben’s tape proves he’s one of the best defensive players in the OAA Gold.
Ben has the effort, physicality, and some of the IQ. What I’m hoping for this season is even better play speed and even better IQ- and I think that’s exactly what we’re going to get. Phenomenal offseason so far for Ben, and I strongly believe we’re about to see it pay off.
Ben’s school doesn’t typically get recruited quite like some other schools in the area, but Ben is incredibly talented and is flying under the radar more than he should. This season his stats are pretty eye catching. 99 tackles, 4 forced fumbles, an interception and 4 PAT blocks should tell you the kind of player this is. He gets downhill and brings a ton of power behind him, and I really like his motor and pursuit angles, something that’s really important at the LB position. I’ll be watching to see how he improves over the offseason!

fares this coming season. I’ll be honest upfront- the OAA Gold is a weak league, and Berkley has been on a downward trend over the last couple of years. As for Ben, I am highly impressed with his 2023 highlight tape. In short, he’s a reactive and physical linebacker. Against the inside run, Ben reacts relatively quickly. Even on outside runs and against the pass, Ben does a good job of keeping his effort up, having made a few great sideline-to-sideline plays. I do think that Ben needs to improve all-around in order to become a college prospect. If he was a Senior, I’d say Ben is a good D3 prospect. Because he’s had a full camp season + going into his Junior season, I expect a significant jump from Ben this season, hopefully propelling him to being a D2 prospect.
