Ben is an impressively strong and athletic interior defensive line prospect who has a ton of impressive offers from schools such as Michigan, Georgia, Southern California, South Carolina, and Florida, amongst others. Ben is just an absolute rock in the middle of the defensive line – he can’t be moved in the interior run game, and he does an excellent job of playing off blocks by reading and reacting to blocks. Ben uses his hands well to pair with great strength to shock offensive linemen at the point of attack. As a pass rusher, Ben does a great job of bull rushing to push the pocket and get to the quarterback.

In a class lacking true mammoths, Boulware stands out immediately on size. A true 6’5″, 300 pounds, he carries the weight well and could comfortably add more. Despite his size, he maintains good pad level and balance, allowing him to hold the point of attack, something that looks like it will translate to the next level given his strength and technique. The raw numbers aren’t elite, but he’ll be a bot commodity in a role that has become increasingly difficult to recruit.

Ben really exploded from a recruiting perspective at the beginning of the season, picking up a number of Power 4 offers from Georgia, Florida State, North Carolina, and West Virginia all in August. Ben has picked up several more offers since then from Power 4 schools. Ben is a dominant interior defensive lineman who excels in getting immediate penetration at the snap by using a combination of elite strength and a quick burst off the ball at the snap. His athleticism for his size is very good, and allows him to stop plays before they even get started.
