Freshman year 2023, I tore my UCL the 3rd game of the year. Had to play the rest of the season with a large brace and rehab was difficult but I pushed through it.

Byrd has the size and the speed to play Division I football. He functions best on the inside, where he can make plays in the running game, but he gets great depth on his zone drops and is an above-average pass defender. He’s sub-six-foot, but on film, his length stands out. He’s a guy with the strength to hold offensive linemen away from his body to shed tackles and make plays.
