Ayms was one of a few North Dakotans that intrigued me last Sunday at the Augustana Prospect Camp as his position flexibility has started to grow even more with his live eval. We had him graded as a quarterback orginally in the 2027 class, but with the athleticism I saw in the live reps at the tight end position he surely showed that TE could be a fit for him at the next-level with grow to his frame. Ayms was one of the more coachable tight ends I also grasped out of that group, as the new info he picked up he seemed to be able to quickly translate that to his live reps. When college coaches see more of that upside and coachability, I surely think it will translate to more next-level attention for Ayms, who has one Division III offer from Saint Johns (MN) under his belt at the moment.

Ayms I had graded as a quarterback in our last 2027 rankings update and was one at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase that I felt has plenty of position flexibility especiallly at the wide receiver position which he showed off in Aberdeen a couple Sundays ago. This is the first time I have seen live reps of Ayms at wide receiver and what I witnessed is a prospect that seems to have a higher bar of upside in that position. The 6’3 185 pounder showed off impressive length off the eye-test, and knew how to utilize that length when I watched him in Indy and 1v1s and still has room to grow as a wide receiver. With the size profile and huge upside, look for Ayms to be a riser up our 2027 ND board.

Ayms is one that I can surely bet will be higher by next update, as another one that has light reps on tape but has great arm strength and a quick release that shows up early on tape. 6’4 quarterbacks in the Dakotas are also a dime in a dozen to find and I was more impressed with his movement getting outside of the pocket packed in with the arm strength that came with Ayms on shorter routes. Being also a hooper at Shiloh Christian, I could see Ayms as a quick mover in this 2027 class. Another one I wasn’t able to track down on Twitter yet.
