Expert Analysis

Brooke Point’s corner/receiver Aviance Young has been outstanding the past two seasons for the Blackhawks. Had to chance to cover him before his junior season and I can tell you without a doubt he will be playing on Saturdays. Young had 14 total touchdowns in 2025 with 8 of them coming from his normal receiver position. You can see that Brooke Point relies on him for a number of items and he has delivered. Curious as to why his recruiting hasn’t picked up yet, he is a FBS level corner in my opinion.

The last player to jump into the top 100 was Aviance who jumped from 107 to 100. My colleague Carl has been high on him, and he received a Game Ball recognition from Carl in Week 9 this past season. Here are some of my comments on Aviance from March 2025.
Very good mental processing, combined with good ball skills make him a very good coverage safety, recording 2 interceptions and 10 pass breakups this past fall. He is a fluid athlete with good change of direction, acceleration, explosiveness, and speed. Very good at run defense. He can pop ball carriers with good tackling technique and forced 4 fumbles on the season

Brooke Point’s Aviance Young was already just outside of our top 100 2027 prospects and the way his junior year is playing out, he may crack the new top 50. He had a ridiculous performance in his team’s win over Spotsylvania. Young is an elite defensive back who had 2 interceptions last Friday including the game clincher. He is really performing at a high level, not that we are surprised.

, he broke out as a sophomore with 60 tackles, 10 PBUS and 2 Interceptions. The momentum for Young has not stopped from their as he was one of the best players in our Duel in the DMV this past spring. Young debuted at 115th overall after not being ranked at all previously. He is 5’11 and 170 lbs, with a 3.5 GPA, imagine this young man shutting down wideouts in the ACC soon!

Aviance has recently caught our eye due to his outstanding performance at the DMV 7v7 tournament. While I was not in attendance, my collegues gave high praise to his performance. Coming out as one of our top performers there, what matters most is what his game film shows, and it is safe to say you see his playmaking ability show up on game day as well. Very good mental processing, combined with good ball skills make him a very good coverage safety, recording 2 interceptions and 10 pass breakups this past fall. He is a fluid athlete with good change of direction, acceleration, explosiveness, and speed. Very good at run defense. He can pop ball carriers with good tackling technique and forced 4 fumbles on the season. Aviance will be making the jump from the Watch List in this year’s update and is poised for a good position in the DB rankings.

was a baller he may have lead the tournament in interceptions too. Young a first team all district selection last fall, looks poised for a rankings boost in our loaded 2027 class.

The only thing holding back Aviance Young from cracking our top ten 18U performers, 1. I didn’t get the chance to watch him live, 2. Stafford Knights didn’t get as deep as others into the tournament. Both things shouldn’t fault Young Jr.
His spot on this list is trivial and petty, what matters is making sure readers and coaches know that Young Jr. absolutely dominated competition, this from both a wideout and safety perspective. I fully expect a player of Young’s caliber to score in a setting like this one. Too twitchy, to sudden of a wideout to not produce on offense. What’s impressive was Young’s prowess at safety. 5’11, 170 pounds, 3.6 GPA out of Brooke Point HS, Young is generally unassuming. Watch him sky over wideouts and range hash to sideline at events like this, you’d think he was 6’1-6’2. Seven total interceptions throughout two days work, with touchdowns serving as icing on the cake. Young is currently on our VA watch list but is on a fast track to landing well among his 2027 VA peers. Easily a Top Ten performance.
Blessed to be named top performer at duel in the dmv with some of the best in the area for 18u. 7 picks 4 tds on the weekend @PrepRedzoneVA @carljfred @PRZPAvic @CoachAvianceSr @CoachRupe_BPOC @CoachG_BPHS @BrookePoint_FB @CoachDHaze @Spotlight39_Pod @Rob_Otey pic.twitter.com/GWJa69kxDn
