About Austin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Austin Penny is a 6’2 285lb DE/DT, he is a big body who can play on the edge or inside, quick feet, and good power. He can play wherever he is needed from the 0 all the way to wide 9.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a competitor who will play anywhere that can help my team win, and give 100% every play. Some may call it "Mamba Mentality"

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of peer2peer (P2P) which is a depression awareness program, thats goal is to fight stigma and promote seeking help.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel I have matured into a great leader for over these last few years, and I think I have made an impact on the team by displaying that leadership and holding my teammates accountable.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I will be 100% honest when I started this season was I a starter no, I wasn't even top 3 on the depth chart going into my second week of practice I made it my focus to see the field and that's what I did playing from week 2 all the way to 9 and even starting too. So I will say whatever program I go to I will give 100% no matter what.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that 1. has my major (sports Management) that a big one. And 2. I am looking for a football program with a family aspect, where the players treat each other with respect because if we can have a good bond with each other as a whole team, we can win as a team and not individuals.
