Anthony reminds me of an old-school ILB. A 6’1″ 220 lbs thumper who thrives vs the run game. Tackle to tackle Aker dominates with his dominant power. Power that can shuck IOL aside on his way into the backfield. Also power that can be triggered instantly when tackling, leading to him being able to completely shut down forward progress and drive ball carriers backwards. Anthony is a violent LB and a hidden gem coming out of Indian Trail.

Stats: 82 Tackles, 6 TFLs, 1 Sack, 1 FR, 3 INTs, 3 PBUs

This kid is big, strong, and violent. He is a force against the inside run game. The big man is rather nimble on his feet, able to avoid blockers. When that doesn’t work the 220 lber has the strength to battle through the OL to the ball. Anthony isn’t just a run stuffer, though. Throughout his highlights he drops into coverage and shows the range to get out to the sideline while making plays near the line of scrimmage. Anthony has the talent to continue to climb our charts and is definitely someone to get your eyes on before summer.

Anthony is an LB to get your eyes on. The 2027 out of Indian Trail HS sure looks the part of a collegiate LB with his 6’1″ 220 lbs frame. This showcase setting where the kids have to play in space and cover ground quickly doesn’t fit his game well, but Aker proved he could hang in those scenarios. Where he is at his best is when you turn on the tape and watch him play against the run. He is violent shedding blocks and tackling. The junior moves through traffic well and has a closing burst to the ball. He also can move laterally pretty well. If he can continue to improve his coverage game this offseason we could see the 2027 LB have a massive summer with his size and physicality to pair with that coverage skill set.
