Angel Gonzalez Angel Gonzalez 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB/DB Greater Lawrence Tech | 2028 State New E is 6’1 and 175 pound Athlete that can truly do it on both sides of the ball.  At this event he was making plays left and right on both sides of the ball all over the field.  He caught several touchdown passes for his team and had numerous pass break-ups.  On offense, he proved to be a skilled route runner with strong reliable hands and excellent ball skills that can make catches anywhere on the field.  He shows an excellent leadership quality as well, constantly being verbally positive and supportive to motivate his teammates.  On defense, Angel can line up at slot corner and cover inside and he can also line up on the outside and cover there.  He is patient & physical at the line in press man disturbing receivers with his ability to run with you and get his hands on you at same time. He can flip his hips and get in and out of brakes with good technique which lead to multiple pass breakups for him.  Im predicting him to have a huge season at Thayer Academy this fall as he returns as the teams number one option in the pass game and in the secondary.

2023 Film Review: Angel runs crisp routes and can make every catch.  He is strong enough to break tackles in the screen game, and has enough bounce to make catches over defenders.  Angel can make catches on the boundary, and in traffic.  He also can cover in special teams, and is a sure stick when tackling.  His skills are best on display on offense, where he can find holes in defenses and get separation from defenders.

His measurables align with NESCAC Schools

Angel Gonzalez is a name out of Thayer Academy that might surprise some that are not in the know. Some positives, there’s clear attention to detail in both his in-game and off-season route running. Off-season reps show he’s putting in the work, freshman/sophomore tape show how polished a receiver the young man is. The catch radius extends way above Gonzalez’s head, proving he can be a 50/50 ball dominator when given the chance. There is still a ton of room for improvement in regards to his overall frame, which is exciting considering he is already utilizing his height and physicality despite weighing just 160 pounds. He will see much stronger defensive back play in his future, putting on 10-15 pounds while maintaining his speed would do his stock wonders. He’s a sleeper of mine, hoping to see a productive first season at Thayer Academy this Fall.
