Overview: Maddrey is a hard nose runningback and a tackling machine at linebacker, outside and inside. Once he sees daylight between the tackles, he can get up to his top speed in an instant. Moving that fast, his forward momentum and toughness allow him to play bigger than he is and truck defenders at the second and third levels. As a backer, Maddrey relentlessly blitzes the QB and chases down ball-carriers from the backside. He’s an all-around tone setter on that end, regardless of where he lines up. While he might be a viable and productive back at some levels, Maddrey projects as a strong safety who can cover the flats and be a major factor in run support.
