The linebacker position had to earn everything they received on Sunday. We had less than five linebackers come out and those guys put in work from start to finish. They were certainly outnumbered by the running backs and some of the other offensive skill players. Pearland sophomore linebacker

did a very good job standing out in the group and ran away with the linebacker MVP award. He tested well and then did a great job of listening to our LB coach and executing on what he was coached. The athleticism stood out but so did his ability to react quickly to get in a position to make a play. And Wilks looks the part and has to really stand out with the pads on.
