About Amari
Expert Analysis

I understand the hype around the Detroit Country Day Middle School prospect.
I didn’t plan to cover any 2030 athletes, but Amari was way too good to pass up. For one, he’s listed at 6’0″, but I thought he was a tad taller than me (I’m 6’0). Plus, Amari has longer-than-average limbs, and moves extremely well. As a receiver, I loved the attention to detail on comebacks. Amari consistently dropped his hips, and quickly changed direction without much wasted movement. He also flashed his hands. A few questionable drops, but a few really nice contested grabs. Promising.
Defensively, Amari is developing. The good news is that Amari was able to out-athlete most receivers. So, if he made a mistake, he was able to regroup and almost always get a hand on the ball. Generally, there’s a lot of development to be had on the defensive side of the ball. Still, he’s far ahead of the curve.
Once Amari reaches High School, I expect him to be a plug-and-play WR and DB on the varsity level.
