I’m confident I can say there aren’t many other quarterbacks in Virginia who have gotten off to a faster start than Mahmood. In two games, he’s completed 42-of-53 passes for 864 yards, nine touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Both were victories. There’s a play in his Week 1 highlights where he looks off the safety by facing his X receiver, only to turn his attention back to the slot receiver streaking down the seam and completing the pass to him in stride for the touchdown. Mahmood plays in a spread offense and doesn’t lock in on the first receiver. He’s making passes all over the field. I’d like to see him lead the receivers a little bit more on his deep passes so they can catch those in stride and possibly score. Not a lot of running plays, but the one I did watch shows he can clearly make a defense pay with his legs if he gets the opportunity and chooses to. Impressed with his mechanics. He maintains a good throwing posture and gets proper depth in his drops. The passes completed/passes attempted ratio tells you all you need to know about his decision-making with the football.

Alexander Mahmood Alexander Mahmood 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Flint Hill | 2028 State VA has quietly been one of the top junior quarterbacks this season, and he continues to impress with his ball placement and ability to manipulate the pocket.

In a huge win over Fredrickburg Christian on Saturday, he combined for 420 total yards (380 passing/40 rushing) to go along with 5 touchdowns. He was incredibly efficient as well, completing 87% of his passes on the night.

Mahmood is someone who college coaches need to keep an eye on going forward.

Mahmood was flawless yesterday afternoon to bring Flint Hill’s first victory in over a year. He threw for 380 yards, 4 touchdowns and nearly a perfect completion percentage. The Huskies look like a completely different team and Alex seems ready to take the next step in his career.

Mahmood was the full time starting quarterback as a sophomore last season for the Huskies and he had a strong debut. Good completion percentage last year and he has looked noticeable bigger and stronger this off-season, all signs point to a breakout junior campaign. Alex has been in Flint Hill’s program for quite some time and he took over a young team last year. Weapons on the outside and more stability from his offensive line should be in order this season.

Adequate height, solid frame. Good balance and bend in pass set. A pocket passer with the athleticism to evade the rush and roll outside. Good poise, stands in the pocket under pressure. Good zip and touch on his throws, solid accuracy on all levels of the field.

Rising sophomore Alexander Mahmood Alexander Mahmood 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Flint Hill | 2028 State VA growth this off-season as a passer is impressive, he looks ready to lead the Huskies offense. While he should have plenty of options to target, Mahmood does a good job of seeing the field, he is very careful with the football. Love the way he was dicing up secondaries during their 7v7s, Mahmood looks like he is making the leap.

2028 out of Flint Hill. 3.94 GPA, 6’0, 155 pounds. A name we at Prep Redzone are becoming quickly familiar with. Mahmood attended our first PRZ VA showcase back in January, he’s coming even more seasoned and more prepared than in the past.

Question I Want Answered: Can Mahmood be named a Top Performer among a talented QB crop in attendance?

Ranking, tape, and recruiting aside, I want to see Mahmood show up and blow away competition. I know the talent is there, I know he can hold his own in a crowd. It’s a matter of proving it with Mahmood. Can Mahmood perform among the best after the combine portion of our event? Can he wow during Indis and 1v1s? I want to see him stand out above the rest, it would do wonders for his stock on our site, as well as among the college coaches present.

With a chance to be Flint Hill’s new starting quarterback this fall sophomore Alexander Mahmood is making significant progress this off-season. Mahmood looks bigger and stronger from his freshman campaign and he acquitted himself nicely this past weekend. He has a calming presence under center and should have key playmakers like Ty Harris back to get him situated. Really like what I saw from him during the individual drills, his improvement is steadfast.

The future QB of Flint Hill has started off strong as the JV starter this season. Through two games (two games have been canceled this season), he is 16 for 34, 319 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT, averaging 19.94 yards per attempt. He also has 13 rushes for 61 yards, averaging 4.69 yards per carry. He shows good pocket poise, able to maneuver through the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield. An accurate passer from the pocket and on the run. He has solid arm strength and that will develop as he continues to grow and get stronger. You will find his film on his X Account page.
