Alex is a dominant threat on the outside, and Marvin Ridge will work to scheme him open in a variety of ways. The physical strength Alex plays with is a lot for most high school corners to handle in single coverage, and sometimes even in double coverage. Alex has a great vertical, strong hands, and also blocks well in the running game.

At the time of our last rankings update, Voss had just one offer, an FCS verbal from Elon. In the three and a half months since that January update, Voss has picked up eight others, including an ACC offer from Boston College, leading to an April commitment. Voss is an advanced route-runner for a tall receiver and has the ball skills to boot. He’s a guy I expect to continue developing over the course of the next year.

I had the pleasure of seeing Alex live last season, and sometimes you have players stretch their real height/weight – it’s almost assumed these days by college coaches and evaluators. Alex is every bit of 6’3 and he may even be a little taller. He is a strong & physical player on the outside who does a good job of winning against man-to-man coverage. The big thing with Alex is his catch radius – when you look at his film, he makes some incredible catches from all areas of the field. Alex also shows some nice run-after-catch ability in the open field. Alex has several Division 1 college football offers and is a good bet to move up in our next rankings update.

Alex is a big and strong receiver for the Mavericks who faced a lot of attention this past season as their #1 threat in the passing game. I feel like Alex’s best football is ahead of him, and this past season he started to realize how good he can become. Alex has strong hands and knows how to run his routes to gain leverage on smaller defensive backs downfield. Alex is also an impressive blocker in the running game, fitting his hands well inside the frame of defenders and driving them away from ball carriers. Alex got his first offer this past season from Elon University, and I think his stock is definitely rising where more recruiting attention will come his way. He’s an easy pick for this Junior Bowl team.
