possesses was on display as he completed the offensive scoring trifecta. Orecchio passed for a touchdown (1-1, 14 yards), rushed for a score on 15 carries for 57 yards, and caught a score on 8 catches that garnered 140 yards. As if that was not enough, Orecchio made 5 tackles (3 solo) and made all 4 of his PAT attempts.
A player that I am glad I finally got to witness live after all these years of covering him before it is too late, Orecchio’s season numbers are:
11-25, 180 yards, 5 TD, 1 Int passing
79 carries, 505 yards, 12 TD rushing
51 receptions, 764 yards, 7 TD receiving
62 tackles (47 solo), 1 TFL, 7 Int defending
3-3 FG, 33-yard long, 43-48 PATs kicking
2, two-point conversions
For his career, his numbers are:
99-182, 1770 yards, 27 TD, 1 Int passing
171 carries, 1389 yards, 23 TD rushing
59 receptions, 857 yards, 8 TD receiving
66 tackles (54 solo), 1 TFL, 9 Int defending
3-3 FG, 33-yard long, 43-48 PATs kicking
2, two-point conversions
Although I am not sure what position he will play at the next level, I do know that Orecchio is a player that college coaches would use creatively and their team will be better for rostering him.

delivered a standout performance in NVOT’s 27-21 victory over Ramapo. Starting at wide receiver, he contributed early with a few critical receptions, but his impact took off when he switched to quarterback. As a dual threat, Orecchio did it through the air and on the ground, showcasing his versatility.
He threw a long bomb to Robert Agans just before halftime and added two rushing touchdowns, punching it in twice from the goal line. His offensive presence was undeniable, but his defensive impact was just as critical. Playing defensive back, Orecchio broke up three passes and made two crucial interceptions, including the game-sealing pick.
Orecchio’s all-around effort was pivotal in securing NVOT’s crucial win over Ramapo, proving his value.

was undoubtedly the player of the game in Northern Valley Old Tappan’s 27-21 win over Ramapo. Starting as a wide receiver, Orecchio quickly proved his value in multiple roles, becoming the most prominent impact player on the field. He excelled at defensive back on defense with an essential pass breakup and two crucial interceptions, including one that sealed the victory. Offensively, he was unstoppable, scoring three total touchdowns and picking up key first downs with his legs. Even after taking snaps at running back, Orecchio created yards after contact and showed off his toughness. Committed to Johns Hopkins University, Alec’s all-around performance was critical in securing the win for NVOT.

. Having scored a 34 out of 36 on his ACT, he certainly has the smarts to match his athleticism and will probably end up being a coach one day if he so chooses. Orecchio plays quarterback and cornerback for Old Tappan. A bit of a stockier player who may not have elite speed, he steps up in the pocket and moves very well. When running as a quarterback he reminds me more of a true athlete than anything. That said, on film it seems as if the ball jumps out of his hands, able to throw it roughly 50 yards of air distance and also throw against his body. Used occasionally as a target, he can make concentration catches. When contact approaches, Orecchio will chin the ball to avoid turnovers and is willing to lower his shoulder to run someone over. Defensively he high points the ball nicely and is able to adjust to poorly thrown balls. Based only on his style of play, I would describe Orecchio as playing as if he was a wrestler. Although I am not sure exactly where he will play in college, I know that he will certainly help a team at the next level.

is ready to elevate Old Tappan to the next level in 2024. A QB that can embarrass a defense in multiple ways, Alex is not only fast enough to outrun the entire defense but has the arm skills to pick defenses apart all game long. An extremely athletic quarterback that can maneuver around the backfield to keep the play alive, Alex gives his guys time to create separation and make it an easy throw. Throwing for 21 touchdowns and 1532 yards, defenses need to make sure to get pressure on him early and often because he has the arm strength to outthrow the coverage.
The trouble with going up against Alex is if you somehow find a way to slow down the aerial assault, he still has the ability to absolutely decimate a defense on the ground. Rushing for 876 yards and 11 touchdowns last fall, Alex is a QB that needs to be spied each and every snap. A bulldozer of a runner, Alex rarely goes down after first contact with his strong leg drive and body control when being hit.

Alec Orecchio, a 5”8” senior quarterback, injects NVOT with a dynamic edge, particularly evident in his agility and elusiveness on the field. As a runner, he displays remarkable shiftiness and evasiveness, qualities that elevate his effectiveness as a quarterback.
Alec’s standout attribute lies in his capacity to generate explosive plays with his legs, a trait that adds an unpredictable dimension to NVOT’s offense. Moreover, this season has witnessed a notable improvement in his proficiency in short passing and deep throws, providing

, a committed Wagner wide receiver, ample opportunities for contested catches.
Anticipated for this season is he take the next step as a passer where he gives NVOT’s offense the ablity to consistently access all levels of the field and be able to create and extend plays as a passer

has been an absolute monster for Old Tappan. Alex has led his team to a 9-1 record, and a 36-0 shut out of Lincoln last weekend in the sectional semifinals. Going up against the underdog West Morris, who they faced last year in the Group 3 semifinals, Alex will need to continue playing as prolifically as he has. A true duel threat, Alex has passed for 1156 yards and has found the end zone 18 times through the air. What may be more devastating to defenses is how he uses his legs. He has compiled 705 yards on the ground and has scored 10 touchdowns. The junior QB has the potential to take Old Tappan all the way this season.
